Using rulers and guides

The template editor includes horizontal and vertical rulers, as well as guides. Guides can be added to facilitate aligning components in a template.

Note that rulers and guides are not supported in the Spreadsheet template mode.

Show or hide rulers

To show or hide rulers, navigate to a template. Within the Template ribbon menu, click Show rulers or Hide rulers

Note that rulers are on by default in later versions of ConnectReport when working with the Report Document template type.

Add guides

Guides allow you to align items in a template. This can be used to ensure components are lined up horizontally or vertically, and may also be used to emulate margins.

To add vertical or horizontal guides to a template, first ensure that rulers are shown. Next, click anywhere within a ruler to add a guide. Guides can later be removed by clicking on them within the ruler.
