Planning your deployment

System Requirements

Before you install ConnectReport Server, be sure to review the following items.

Check whether the target system meets the minimum requirements. We do not recommend running ConnectReport in a production environment with the minimum system requirements - for production deployments we have a minimum recommendation.

Service Account

If you plan to run ConnectReport using a service account (optional), you may follow the steps below to create one:

  1. On the target system, open Computer Management
  2. From the sidebar, navigate to Local Users and Groups
  3. Open the Users folder
  4. Right-click and choose New user...
  5. Enter a username and password for the ConnectReport service account
  6. Uncheck User must change password at next login
  7. Check Password never expires
  8. Click Create
  9. Double click on the newly created user
  10. Open Local Security Policy
  11. Open the Local Policies folder
  12. Open the User Rights Assignment folder
  13. Locate and open the Log on as service entry
  14. Click Add User or Group 
  15. Enter the name of the ConnectReport service account that you created
  16. Open Command Prompt
  17. Run the command gpupdate
